You Capture

This week's You Capture was pretty easy.

There are always fruits and vegetables around the house.

And they are a lot of fun to photograph.

Lovely diced tomatoes for Taco Night this week.

All the family's favorites are represented here except mine.
Strawberries never stand a chance of lasting long enough to get a picture.

An apple a day...

And, of course, the Halloween pumpkin.

A Little of This and a Little of That

I just thought I would share with you a little of our week.

The boys went on a Krisy Kreme tour.
It was on a Wednesday night which is normally church night.
I figured I would sacrifice for the sake of the boys education.
It's important to learn the essentials in life.

I love how James is on the floor looking up at the chocolate.

Poor Josh was very sick that day.
He was feeling too bad to eat the donuts they gave us.
Don't worry, I made sure they were given the proper appreciation.

We also carved the pumpkins this week.

My husband told me I wouldn't put this picture on the blog cause of the face he is making.
Ha! He doesn't know me very well.
If you read my post last week on The Many Faces of Josh now you know where he gets it.

I love the faces the boys made while cleaning out the guts.

The end result?

And for your amusement, my nails for Halloween.

Have a wonderful Halloween, everyone!

SHS 10/28

Here are my interpretations for Scavenger Hut Sunday this week.

Pattern

The kids picked out the patterns for this years Jack O Lanterns.
I love how they show the different personalities.

Machine

I found this beauty at a thrift store recently. It will soon live in my office/craft room.
For now, it is a constant source of enjoyment for all the kids who come to our house.
They all love playing with it. It's a good thing it doesn't work already.

Sign

This sign is front and center in my kitchen.
I am hopeful that we are all living these rules.

Stones

There is no shortage of rocks around El Paso.
Pretty much all the landscaping is done with them.
Big, little, black, brown, grey. They are everywhere here.

Sparkle

Look closely. See the glitter sparkling inside this orb.
We were fascinated with it on our recent trip to White Sands National Park.
Trina begged me to buy it, but for $135, I passed.

Friday Letters

Dearest coffee,
Have I told you lately how much I appreciate you being my steady morning companion?
Or how much I love you willingness to chance from
Vanilla to Pumpkin to Peppermint depending on my mood?
You truly are the best!

Dear El Paso,
Really? 80 degrees in October?
I will not be sad when we part ways in January.
The only things I will miss are your sunrises and light shows.

Dear husband,
Thanks for teaching the kids to play chess.
Now they can beat me.

Dear Kripy Kreme,
Please move closer to my house.

Airshow Weekend

We had big plans for this past weekend.

The Amigo Airshow was in town and we planned to have a picnic at the park to watch instead of braving the crowds to get up close and personal.

Apparently, there was a of of wind because there really wasn't much of a show when it started.

Oh, well. We got to have a nice family picnic.

Jerry decided it was time to teach Josh the fine art of grilling.
Josh wasn't too thrilled with the lesson.
He thought it was too hot to use your fingers on the grill.
I have to agree.
Next time, we will bring some tongs.

Everyone enjoyed our dogs and relaxation time.

Then, Josh being Josh, couldn't sit still any longer.
So, he started a war with daddy.

I think Daddy won.
Better luck next time, Josh

After we got home and settled, the air show started in earnest.
So, we pulled up some chairs and watched from our back yard.

It was very impressive to have the planes zooming over our house.
Although it does make it hard to photograph said planes
when they are going about 300 miles an hour.

Geez, didn't they know I was trying to get some good pictures?
Slow down, fellas!

SHS 10/21

My interpretations for Scavenger Hunt this week:

Orange or Pink

These are my two current favorite nail polishes.
So, I thought it appropriate to use them for this prompt.

Faceless Portrait

I am learning a lot from these assignments. I had to look this one up to get some good examples.
This one is my daughter at her first dance.

View From The Top

 My James at the playground.
He sure needs a haircut.  :)

Cozy

I admit, this one is from my archives.
But, it was perfect for cozy, so I went with it.

Stacked

 Lincoln Logs...the perfect stacking toy.
