Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I love taking pictures so much.

I really need to get back to doing it more consistently.

I am linking up with Ashley again for

Spring and summer offers loads of opportunities for colorful shots.

Driving the boat for our anniversary cruise. So much fun.

It seems like my kids are only friends when it has to do with Doctor Who.
Fish fingers and custard. YUM!

So much joy in that face.

Fresh blueberries from the berry farm.
They made an excellent berry cobbler.

Next week:

1. Red
2. White
3. Blue
4. Play
5. Sparkle

16 Years

Last Friday my husband and I celebrated 16 years of marriage.

16 years.

Sometimes, it seems like forever ago.
Other times, it feels like it was just yesterday.

There were times I thought we weren't going to make it.
But, we were both committed and decided that no matter what,
God joined us together and we would stay together.

I am so glad we have.

To celebrate, Jerry surprised me with a date to remember.

He saw how much I love the cruise we went on a few weeks ago
and knowing there was no way we could afford that again anytime soon,
he took me out for a sunset cruise on the lake.

I tried guessing all week what he had planned, but that scenario never crossed my mind.
He was very proud of himself.
And I was thrilled with the date.

 He piloted us.....

While I enjoyed the sun and the water.

I decided I wanted to drive us, too.

We had dinner and wine and cheesecake.
All my favorites.

It was a perfect date.
Sun, water, wine, and a gorgeous sunset.

I am so glad I said "I do" all those many years ago.

Here's for going another 70 together.

Who Am I?

You know all those quizzes floating around Facebook?

Yes, you do! You see them practically everyday.
And you've taken them.

Me, too.

So, according to Facebook quizzes, this is who I am...

I am Princess Aurora.

I should live in Star's Hollow.

In a Victorian house.

Married to my prince, Thor.

But, I am originally from Krypton.

And I should retire in Santorini, Greece.

Also, I am most likely to get arrested with Jennifer Lawrence.

Yep, that all sounds about right.

God is Good...Life is Good

We went on a cruise!

My best friend helped me find the opportunity and
finances for our family to take a family
vacation together on a cruise.
With the past 18 months of hardships and changes,
it was so needed.

It was a bit cloudy when we got on the boat, but it soon cleared up
for sunny skies and smooth sailing all the way to Mexico.

My favorite people in the whole world were with me.

Upon exploring the ship, Josh found one of the
lifeboats and reached out to it.
"I touched the butt!!"
This kid slays me.

Our days were filled with lots of activities and fun.

Like Tea Time.

Elegant Night with my handsome soldier.

And my beautiful daughter.

Michele taught the boys how to make fart sounds under their arms with a straw.
Oh, how they laughed.

Once in Mexico, there was lots of sun, and fun, and impossible blue water.

We celebrated  James' 10th birthday in Cozumel.
Where we found a nice big cake for him to play in.

This was one of the boys' favorite places.
Though clearly not for playing chess.
More like bowling with pieces being knocked over everywhere.

There was lots of opportunities to stand in awe of God's creation.

To reconnect with my sweetie.

And to make lots of new friends.

I've got a whole new perspective on life now.
Being in the middle of the ocean surrounded by God's
majesty and glory will do that to you.

Well, that and scones and cream.
And brownies.

No Secret

It's been no great secret that since getting out of the Army last year,
I have been really struggling.

It's been a real challenge to transfer to this new life.
Challenges with the kids, challenges with the new home,
challenges with no Army family around.

Challenges abound.

But, so do blessings.

We finally get to spend quality time with the grandparents.

There are a lot more opportunities for family time and fun.

And of course, there's Doctor Who family time.

Where we dress up for Halloween.

And eat strange things like fish fingers and custard.

So, all in all, I would have to say the blessing far outweigh the challenges.
At least until next year when I have two teenagers and one preteen in the house.
Oy vey!

8 Things

Today is the 8th of May.
(What?? May, already?)

So, in honor, 8 things I love right now.

The golden hour.
Perfect for taking pictures.

Photography assignments where you find colorful floppy disks that take you back to middle school.

Beautiful light and textures.

Little League baseball.
This team has been so good for my boy.

Springtime blooms.
There are colorful flowers all over my yard right now.

These two who do keep my life interesting.

They get it from their father.
