For days it has been doing nothing but this...
So, I've been sitting in front of this...
Drinking this...
Warm.
Cozy.
Nice.
I am an Army wife and mom of 3. Life around here is a beautiful mess. Welcome to the chaos.

Sunsets
Because sunsets make me happy
and I need some happy in my life right now.
Sunsets around my neck of the woods
over the past few weeks...
Out my back door
Down a country road
Over the trees
By the lake
Lake reflection
Over the city
and I need some happy in my life right now.

Homemade Applesauce
My best friend is from Michigan.
She has lived in Texas now for 30 years.
But she still raves about the fresh fruits from up north.
Since it is prime apple picking time, and her parents were coming down south,
I asked for a batch of them to see if the hype was true.
When I asked for a batch, I didn't anticipate getting about 100 apples!
So, what do you do when you have an overabundance?
Make applesauce!
I was going to make apple pie filling, but the apples were too grainy and soft for that.
So, applesauce it turned out to be.
Step one:
Peel and peel and peel apples!
This is only one bowl. I had three.
Step two:
Cook apples.
I made two batches.
One with cinnamon and one without.
Step three:
Can those babies!
Step four:
Admire your handiwork.
Step five:
Eat and enjoy!
Yum! Warm, fresh applesauce.
I think I might open one and have it on vanilla ice cream.
Have a great weekend, friends!

Being positive
I cannot express enough how thankful I am God has
placed certain people in my life.
The friends I have made over the years as an Army wife
are so precious to me.
During this transition time into the civilian world,
I am not sure if I would keep my sanity without them.
Finding friends in a very small town where everyone has been
all their lives is hard.
Finding anyone who understands what it is like to change your
whole world is nearly impossible.
Which is why I am so grateful for my Army wife girls.
The ones who have walked this path before me and
give me valuable insight and perspective.
The ones who are still in who encourage me in so many ways.
The ones who I have have touched and who have touched me
over the years.
I know that this season will end and I will settle into the new
life where God has placed us.
I will make new friends, gain new experiences, and
have a new ministry.
All in God's timing.
Until that happens, I will forever be thankful for the
wonderful ladies He provided for me over the years.

A Few of My Favorite Things
It's a beautiful, rainy afternoon here in East Texas.
Some of you might not thing that's beautiful,
but when you've been in a drought all summer,
a little rain is a wonderful thing.
I honor of the much needed rain,
I want to share a few of my other favorite things.
Flowers that bloom in the fall.
Late afternoon sunlight though Old Glory.
Baseball. I really want one of these lights for my house.
A refreshing blueberry mojito.
Gumdrops!
My favorite is the red.
That's why there aren't any here.
A message from my son in the morning.
Fall decorations.
Or anything at all to do with Autumn.
A freshly made bed.
I think I'll go crawl into it with a good book and listen to the rain.
Happy weekend!

SHS 9/15
Life is full.
School is in full swing for the kids.
Husband is working again full time.
I have started volunteering at the local library.
Time's are pretty good.
Enjoy this week's Scavenger Hunt.
Pumpkin
I had to adjust this one.
Living in the country means no coffee chains.
So, no pumpkin drinks for me.
Read a Book
My daughter's favorite past time in the whole world.
At any given time, you can find her in this position.
Eat Something Sweet
Ahhh, these take me back to childhood.
My favorite Fall/Halloween candy.
Animal
Our sweet Peaches.
She doesn't look too happy, huh?
I think she just tolerated the kids.
Artsy
I played around with my camera settings to get this one.
I think it looks pretty artsy.
Have a wonderful week, friends!
