Quality Time

Sorry I've been MIA for a while.

I am trying to quiet my heart with all the changes that
have taken place over the last few months.

And I am spending as much time with Jerry and the kids
as possible.

We have never had this opportunity before
and I want to take full advantage of it.

I have still been taking lots of pictures,
so I will have lots to post soon.

Here are just a few....

These are just a few of the flowers
blooming in my yard right now.
Gorgeous!

The bluebonnets are in full bloom.

So, of course, it was time to take the kids out into them.

Hope you guys are enjoying this Spring as much as I am.

SHS 4/7

I swear, I don't think things are ever going to
be normal again.

There are always projects and house renovations going on.

I am happy to have my Scavenger Hunt every week.
It keeps me grounded.

Outside

It is so beautiful outside these days.
I want to stay out all day, everyday.

Chatterbox

 He's my youngest.
He likes to talk, and play, and cut up all the time.
I kinda like him.

Comfort

Is there anything better than a hammock in the sun?

In The Kitchen

 See? Yet another project.
We are taking out the old bar and adding a new, better one.
It does make quite a mess in my kitchen.

Trees

I love when the trees start putting on their leaves for the year.
Everything is new and green and fresh.

Easter 2013

What an eventful Easter this year.
Jerry and Trina went to the church early for choir practice.
The boys and I were to follow.

The boys and I were late to church because of a massive thunderstorm.
It rained and hailed and boomed for more than 30 minutes.
There was no way I was going out in it.
So, we were late to Sunday School.

After we made it, the service was beautiful.
Packed, but beautiful.

Speaking of beautiful,
my beautiful daughter was in the choir this year.
I love that she is getting involved.

After church, we headed home to get the eggs ready for the hunt.
This is the kids favorite part, I think.

Finally, it was time to hunt.

My dad is just an overgrown kid.
He likes hunting, too.
I think it had to do with the money egg that was hidden.

Then it was time for pictures.

 My handsome men.

Yes, she is taller than me.
She reminds me of that everyday.

It was going well until it was just the boys turn.
I told them they had to be normal for one picture.

 See how cute they are.

Then, this.

Boys!

I hope your Easter was as great as ours.
Thunderstorms, silliness, and all.

SHS Easter 2013

Happy Easter!

"Living He loved me,
Dying He saved me
And buried He carried my sins far away
Rising He justified freely forever
One day He's coming,
Oh, glorious day,
Oh, glorious day"

Casting Crowns

On to the Scavenger Hunt....

Water
I do so love living by a lake.
So peaceful and calming.

Empty
My husband built me some bookshelves last week.
Trust me, they won't be empty for long.

Fresh
Is there anything more fresh than crisp, beautiful white flowers?

Weathered
This gorgeous old greenhouse was at a local antique store.
They wanted too much for it, but I am pretty sure
I can make one myself.

Ordinary
Just an ordinary picnic with the kids.
Josh taking the picture,
James making faces.  :)

Have a wonderful, blessed week.
For Christ is risen indeed!

Backyard Birthdays, Baby Showers, and Babies

It was a crazy busy weekend for our family.
Full of lots of celebrating an junk food.

My oldest son turned 11 on Friday.
I took cupcakes up to the school at lunch for him.
It was really amusing to watch the fighting
over who got to share them.

But who could blame them?
They were chocolate, after all.

He decided he wanted to roast hot dogs over the fire for his party.
I am totally ok with that.
No cooking for me.

Katrina thinks she is the only normal one in our family.
She might be right.

There is just not a non messy way to eat smores.

I love the excitement on his face.
Totally fake, though.
He helped pick out his present, so he was pretending to be surprised.

Then on Saturday, we celebrated the newest addition to the family.
My beautiful niece is going to have a baby this summer.
I am thrilled to pieces!
Another baby to spoil.

Isn't she just adorable?
Although I don't feel old enough to be a Great Aunt.

 The happy couple opeing gifts.
They made out like bandits.
I never got that much stuff when my babies were born.
Adorable and spoiled.

Daddy-to-be and Grandma-to-be in the games.
I suppose youth has its advantages.

Apparently you never outgrow sibling rivalry.

Four generations right here.
If you count the one on the inside.
And I do.

Speaking of babies, I got to spend time with my youngest niece and nephew this weekend.

Kinda makes me want another one.

Nah, I'll just spoil these and send them back.

SHS 3/24

I got to pick the theme this week.

To be honest with you, I picked all of these because
I already had the pictures to go with it.

I know, I know. I'm a cheater.

But it made for more time to finish some projects.

Asian
There is a Japanese garden at Ft Bliss.
It makes for some awesome pictures
as well as a peaceful afternoon.

Wavy
I love how the clouds look like ocean waves.
God is so awesome!

Draw
Josh drew this for his dad in school.
If you knew my husband, you'd know how appropriate it is.

Soft
I love how both the flowers and the leaves are soft.
And they smell amazing.

Texture
This is the texture on the hallway between Trina's bedroom and bathroom.
She and I worked on it until it was perfect.
Now to add the sparkle paint to it.

Next week:

Water
Empty
Fresh
Weathered
