SHS 3/3

This week, my Scavenger Hunt is focused on my garden.
What I have and what I want.

Red

These are the first things going into my garden this year.
Just waiting for a little warmer weather....

Orange

This is what I would have in my garden if I lived in the right place.
Oh, grapefruit, you slay me.

Yellow

At least the daffodils don't care about the cold and grow profusely.

Green

The Lilies should be opening shortly.

Blue

And my favorite flower in my favorite color.
A blue Hyacinth.

Brown

Mmy fresh, newly tilled vegetable garden.
Come on, Spring!

A Break

My best friend came to visit me this week.
An unexpected, very welcome surprise.

While we have been accomplishing a lot on the house,
a break was definitely in order.

We went to the Dairy-ette in Dallas.
Supposedly the best burgers and fries in the Metroplex.
Great burgers, not so great fries.

After our burgers we walked it off at the lake at sunset.

And play in the trees.
Somehow, my best friend brings out my inner child.

We found an In N Out Burger and decided to undue our walk to undue the first burger.
I love the photobombers in the back.

And if the burgers weren't enough,
we topped off the night with Cheesecake Factory.
If you are gonna splurge, I say make it worth it.
I had never been before.
WOW!
I highly recommend it.
Occasionally.

I love having a friend that will surprise me
and help me even when I don't know I need it.

SHS Is Back

Finally, I have things settled enough that I can
take time to enjoy photography again.

Not that the house is done
or the projects complete.
But, enough so that I can get back into a hobby again.

So, without further ado, my interpretations for the week.

Time To Eat

On our fancy date this week, Jerry and I splurged on the food.
I had Fried Quail with Arugula Salad
Jerry ordered Braised Pork in Plum Sauce.
Absolutely divine!

Getting Ready

My handsome man getting ready for church.
I like it when he wears a tie.

Playtime

Jerry took Josh fishing for Daddy/Son time this week.
Trust me, it was more play time that quiet time.

Sweet Dreams

There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping child.
Or quieter.

Scrub-A-Dub

At my niece's baby shower this weekend,
these sweet rubber duckies were swimming in the punch.

Next Week:
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue

A Quick Update

Things are looking a bit better this week.

Jerry is at an interview right now and I am praying
hard for God to open this door.

Trina's room is finally done.
I love how it turned out.
The colors are so bright and cheery.
All that's left is to move everything in.

We are getting lots of rain.
While it is a bit depressing while it's happening,
it does bring about a desired result.

Best of all, Jerry and I had date night.
I have always wanted to go to the Reunion Tower restaurant in Dallas.
Jerry surprised me with it for our date.
It was amazing!
The view, the food, the whole experience.
Definitely a night to remember.
And it's not even our anniversary.  :)

I am hoping for a good weekend, too.
Alone time with each of the kids.
And maybe, just maybe we will find our church this Sunday.

Be Still

I haven't posted in a while.
I am tired.
I am overwhelmed.

God reminded me this week to rely on Him.
To be still and listen.

I am trying.

Maybe I just need to take lessons from James.

Chillin' in the hammock.
Not a care in the world.

We are still searching for a church home.
Jerry is still looking for a job.

Prayers would be very much appreciated, friends.

Projects, Projects, and More Projects

With all the chaos and confusion of getting stuff done in the new house
I am very overwhelmed.
There are about 10 projects going all at the same time.

But at least we are making progress.

We now have the wiring in, floors down, and two windows up.

And this is why I am impatient to get it done.

I want my porch back.
Until the room is done,
Trina's stuff stays right here.

While the guys are working on that room,
I am getting other stuff done.

I found this wire shelf at my mother in law's house.
She was throwing it away, so I confiscated it.

It just needed a little TLC.

And it is just like new.
Perfect for my bathroom.

Now I am on to the next project.

I can't wait til this one is done.
It will complete my bathroom.
And at least one room will have everything in place.
